The Way Back
A Walk’n’Talk podcast about a man struggling with anxiety and depression, contemplating life and how to get better. Narrated by himself as a stream of consciousness, he walks every day letting his mind and mouth run free, talking about his journey back to happiness (hopefully).

Thomas finishes the last day of sound design, and is heading towards the weekend with a very chill state of mind. He is trying to just be, and not rush, don't push and take life as it comes. It is definitely making everything more relaxed, and hopefully it is possible to keep doing this for a while.

Thomas takes his time, doing his routines while also getting some work done and also making time for ice-cream and walking around doing the walk'n'talk in the nice summer sunshine. He is finally managing to slow down, and feeling good about it, even though things around him seems to push for a faster pace.

Today Thomas had a meeting with his Job Center case worker that was much more sympathetic and open to his situation and his process. Luckily she is the one responsible for making final judgement of his case, and the doctors form neither present an obstacle nor paints a bad picture. Now if only his wife’s new job doesn’t backfire, the next period of time might just be "cake and rainbows".

Thomas goes to the doctor to get his sick leave validated, and encounters a very cold, cynical and unemphatic person, who gets annoyed that he doesn't fit into the box, and that his process takes a bit longer than "normal" people. He is angry and frustrated that he is treated this way. Not being taken serious, just because he is different!

During the first "real" session with his new psychologist, Thomas is introduced to a new and more engaging process that involves trying to find out who he really is, and what direction he should go in to get better. This sparks a whole new sting of thoughts that brings him back to question if he can really step away from his perfectionism.

The vacation in Spain is coming to and end, and so is also the stress of being in a group with his family and grandparents. Even though they had a lot of great times, it has also been a major stress factor. And unfortunately the mini-dates that he planned to have with his wife never happened because his parents got sick in the end.

After another hard day in vacation land, Thomas and his wife is both pondering why the mood has changed so much, and why non of them are goofing around and having fun anymore. There is obviously a lot of energy spend managing the group, now that the grandparents are there, but is there other underlying things causing mental roadblocks?!

Walk 'n' Talk
In the spring of 2024 Thomas is hit hard by depression and anxiety, forcing him to stop working and start thinking about life. He starts an audio journal or maybe it's a podcast, that is recorded everyday during a walk, and then posted here, instead of it living in his pocket. This is not meant to entertain or educate ... it just is.
